Salu Self-Help Blind & Handicapped Association successfully launched the “Economic Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities through Livelihood Improvement” project on March 19, 2025, at Elgel Hotel. The initiative is generously funded by the Lelt Foundation of New York, USA and aims to enhance the economic independence of individuals with disabilities.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including representatives from the Nifas Silk Lafto and Kolfe Keranio Sub-Cities’ Finance and Women, Children, and Social Affairs Bureaus, as well as officials from Nifas Silk Lafto Sub-City Woreda 14 and Kolfe Keranio Sub-City Woreda 04. Also in attendance were Salu’s board members, staff, beneficiaries, and other invited guests, all of whom contributed to the event’s success.
This project marks a significant step toward fostering economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods for persons with disabilities, reinforcing Salu’s commitment to inclusivity and social development.
